Dressing for pam Hogg!
Pam had Daisy lowe opening the show and included other celbrities such as Jamie Winstone and Alice Dellal so backstage it was amazing to be working with these girls! It was the most fun show and it had a sort of punky feel to it with the models she had used! I thought her collection was very now and she had already created this look 25 years ago!

LONDON-FASHION-WEEK!
Behind the scenes at London Fashion Week!
This was such a good weekend I had an amazing time! Every day and show was different and I got to meet some great people models, designers and even celebrities!
I was in group B so we had lots of early starts and our days basically consisted of arriving early and doing jobs that needed to be done until we were assigned a model for the first show! We would then meet our model and make sure they were ok and then wait to do a fitting for the show and then quickly after that we would be dressing them for the actual show! So I ended up dressing for four shows in total and I got a chance to watch one of the shows on the last day!

Week 17
This week I had my next tutorial with Asleene and we discussed my final design which was a short jumpsuit and for the rest of the day I worked on the pattern for it! I was kind of worried about gettin to this stage as I didn't really know how I was going to make my own pattern for my outfit but luckily there was a catsuit block in the studio so I used this to start with. I shortened the catsuit and the sleeves and then had to make a seprate pattern for my hood and because I had a v shape at the front of design I lowered the neckline and adjusted the hood pattern to fit! It did take me all day but I was really happy to get all my pattern done as there wasn't much room in the studio so I was glad to get it all sorted!
We also had a work experience talk on wednesday in our pprd session and Sarah asked us all if we had found placements and asked us all what sort of area we were trying to find experience in! Alot of people had got their placements already which was a bit worrying as I havent yet! I am particularly intersted in magazine work so Sarah advised me to contact some magazines myself as its better to try and organise it yourself so thats what I am going to do!

Week 16!
On Tuesday we had our second session of buying & merchandising where Jo discussed with us the key tasks of each particular fashion job so she told us exactly what the buyers, merchandisers and designers so on actually do. I then had a Lectra jersey workshop as we had created a pattern for a jersey using modaris so Jane was showing us exactly how we would need to make our Jersey. We had a taught session as we wer going to be using machines that we hadn't used before for example the Kansai machine which we needed to use to create the hemm on our jersey. Making the Jersey seemed quite simple as we were overlocking all the pieces together and we were using ribbing fabric for the cuff and neckline which seemed quite straight forward.

Week 15
This Monday we had another tutorial with asleene but this time it was individual. I had got my sketchbook more together and I had come up with my 20 designs but asleene wanted to me to take them a bit further and do some design development so that I could take a few of my favourite designs and work on them to create my final design!
Buying & Merchandising!
For this new topic we had a teacher called Jo who had alot of experience in the industry as she had actually previously been a buyer for companies such as Tesco and Adams and she now runs her own business called Kite kids where she sells an organic childrens clothes range! So with her experience being a buyer we had alot to learn from her so she told us about all the different roles there are of being a fashion buyer and how different roles in the industy work together. Jo also tols us about the retail enviroment and included her own expereince so it was really interesting as I didnt realise what all the roles actually involved!

Week 14
On Monday we had group tutorials with Asleene and we all sort of talked about what we had been researching and where we were going with out projects. Asleene told me that I needed to get all my images together and start putting them into my sketchbook and go back research things I needed to initially. I needed to look at Peclers for colour palettes and look at line and shape maybe in architecture. We have been given till next week to come up with 20 designs so we can start thinking about a final design! So I need to get a move on!
On Tuesday we had Jamie so my group just got on with making our powerpoint we started putting all our slides together and we had a Lectra lesson on Friday morning.

Back to College!
On the first Monday back we had group tutorials to go through our research for our new projects! I found this really helpful because at this stage I only have bits ans pieces so it was good to listen to everyone else and see what research they had come up with because we all sort of suggested ideas for eachother in what ways to go with our project! We discussed what sports i could look at and different designers that I could draw inspiration from. On Tuesday we had Jamie and we had a new task that we had to get into groups for and we had to create a powerpoint on one of the fashion capitals in the world! I went into a group with Kathryn, Grace, Stef and Emily and we decided to do our powerpoint on New York which was great for me because I went last year! So we started researching different things so that we could all concentrate on one area and then finally put it together when we had to present it!
